Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Nittei Taro (the "Service") handles information about its users.
Effective: August 16, 2026
1. Information we collect
The Service requires no account. We never ask users for contact details such as a legal name, email address, phone number, or postal address. What we do collect is the following.
- What you enter when creating an event (event name, organizer name, description, candidate dates and time slots with their labels, and the deletion date)
- What participants enter (display name, their answer for each option — ○ / △ / × — and any note attached to △)
- The edit PIN (we store only a hashed value, never the PIN itself)
- The token contained in the share URL (we store only a hashed value, never the original)
- Information sent automatically with each request (IP address, browser type, referring page, and similar)
Organizer names and participant display names are chosen freely by users and do not need to be real names.
2. How we use it
We use the information collected for the following purposes.
- Providing the scheduling features (showing options, storing responses, displaying tallies, exporting to CSV / Excel)
- Verifying the edit PIN and authorizing management actions such as adding or removing dates
- Detecting and preventing unauthorized access and misuse
- Understanding how the Service is used and improving its quality
- Serving advertisements
3. Cookies and data stored in your browser
The Service itself does not set any cookies. It may, however, store the following in your browser. These stay in your browser and are not used for any other purpose.
- sessionStorage: the management token issued after the edit PIN is verified (it expires 30 minutes after issue and is discarded when you close the tab)
- localStorage: your "do not ask again" preference for deletion confirmation dialogs
You can clear these from your browser settings at any time. If you do, you will need to enter the edit PIN again for management actions.
4. Advertising
The Service uses Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to the Service or other websites.
You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google’s Ads Settings. You may also opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.
5. Analytics
The Service uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand how it is used. It aggregates page views only; it does not collect personally identifying information and does not track users across other sites.
6. Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell or disclose collected information to third parties, except where required by law. Data is, however, stored on the following providers’ infrastructure as required to operate the Service.
- Vercel Inc. (application hosting)
- Neon Inc. (database hosting)
Anyone who knows the share URL can view that event and its responses. Please be mindful of who you share the URL with, and do not enter information that must not be seen by others.
7. Retention and deletion
Once the deletion date set at creation (up to four months from the creation date) has passed, the event and all related data — candidate dates, participants, and responses — are deleted automatically.
To delete earlier, enter the edit PIN and delete the event from the management screen. Deleted data cannot be restored.
8. Safeguards
We take the following measures to protect the information we hold.
- All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS
- Edit PINs are stored as hashes; the original values are never stored
- Share URL tokens are likewise stored as hashes, never in their original form
- Individual event pages are not indexed by search engines
9. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy as needed. Any revision takes effect when it is posted on this page.
